South Korean President Lee Jae-myung's approval rating has dropped to its lowest level since taking office

Odaily News A poll released on Monday showed that South Korean President Lee Jae-myung's approval rating has fallen to its lowest level since taking office in June last year, amid controversies such as a stock market crash. The poll, conducted by Realmeter and commissioned by media outlet EKN, showed that positive assessments of Lee dropped 0.4 percentage points from the previous week to 45.9%, marking the third consecutive week of decline.

Negative assessments of Lee rose 1 percentage point to 50.5%, surpassing the key 50% threshold for the first time. Another poll by the same polling agency showed that the approval rating for the ruling Democratic Party of Korea stood at 45.1%, up 3.8 percentage points from the previous week, while the main opposition People Power Party's approval rating fell 2.9 percentage points to 37.7%.
