S&P 500 index component companies' second-quarter earnings are expected to grow 47.4% year-over-year, the highest level in five years

Odaily News U.S. listed companies are releasing their second-quarter earnings reports one after another. According to data from FactSet, a U.S. financial data and analytics software provider, based on data from companies that have already reported and analyst forecasts for those that have not yet reported, S&P 500 component companies are expected to achieve a 47.4% year-over-year earnings growth this quarter. This would mark the strongest quarter of earnings growth in the past five years. Among the 158 U.S. companies that have already released their reports, 123 exceeded market expectations in revenue, 34 fell short, and 1 matched expectations. Overall, 138 companies achieved year-over-year revenue growth.

Hugh Gimber, global market strategist at JPMorgan, stated that the earnings performance of U.S. companies has been very solid, and based on the data released by enterprises, the past few weeks have been quite positive.
