Stacks Founder: Recommends Users Diversify BTC Storage Through ETFs, Multi-Signature, and Combinations of Different Hardware Wallets
Odaily News: Stacks founder Muneeb Ali posted on X platform, stating that the Coldcard security incident offers three important lessons, including Bitcoin storage strategies, quantum computing threats, and security development within the BTC ecosystem.
Muneeb Ali stated that this incident has affected a large number of long-term Bitcoin holders who prioritize security and choose self-custody. He advised users not to store all assets in a single solution, but rather to diversify assets through ETFs, multi-signature schemes, and combinations of different hardware wallets.
He also pointed out that quantum computing poses a real threat to cryptographic systems, especially against the backdrop of large language models (LLMs) accelerating scientific breakthroughs. Rather than underestimating the development of quantum computing, it is better to be prepared in advance. Furthermore, he believes the Bitcoin ecosystem needs to strengthen cooperation with external security research institutions to avoid the isolation of security resources caused by the "Bitcoin-only" philosophy, and he called for more security experts to participate in BTC ecosystem development.
