Bessent says coordinated intervention with Japan on the yen was conducted last Friday
Odaily News: U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent: "Our government provides support for America's trusted partners. Economic security is national security, and the U.S.-Japan alliance is built on both. Last Friday's coordinated FX action addressed the disorderly fluctuations of the yen. The Treasury Department remains highly vigilant and maintains close communication with our colleagues at the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Japan. We will not hesitate to participate in further joint interventions. The FIMA repo facility (Foreign and International Monetary Authorities Repo Facility) is an important backstop. We encourage expanding its scale in the coming months. We strongly support Japan's decisive market and monetary measures taken to correct the yen's significant undervaluation." (Jin Shi)
