Odaily reported that on July 22, local time, U.S. President Donald Trump mentioned during a speech in Georgia that due to disagreements between Republicans and Democrats over spending priorities, the federal government is expected to face a "shutdown" in September. On July 21, the Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives passed a short-term funding bill, which would provide funding for federal government agencies until December 4 to avoid a government "shutdown" before the November midterm elections due to a depletion of funds. This temporary funding measure is also known as a "continuing resolution." After passing the House, the bill will be submitted to the Senate for review. Currently, Senate Republican leaders are negotiating with Democrats and considering proposing their own short-term funding plan.
