三星洽谈投资Mistral,估值或达200亿欧元
Odaily reported that sources say Samsung is in talks to participate in a new funding round for AI startup Mistral, which could value the company at approximately 20 billion euros. This move would help the French company become a major alternative to US tech giants. One of the sources indicated that Samsung, which has previously backed the company through its venture capital arm, may invest around 1 billion euros in this new round.
The discussions reflect a broader trend among AI developers seeking partnerships with semiconductor suppliers to address the severe imbalance between computing power demand and supply in the industry. Following the Trump administration's ban last month on foreign users accessing Anthropic's latest Mythos and Fable models, interest in alternatives to leading US AI models has been rising among European and Asian companies and governments. Since its inception, Mistral has focused on developing open-source AI models, allowing clients to customize and control them, meaning no company or government can shut these models down.
