OdailyOdaily Planet Daily News: According to documents from the U.S. Federal Election Commission, the Winklevoss brothers donated approximately $10.018 million worth of Bitcoin to MAGA Inc., a super political action committee (Super PAC) associated with Donald Trump, on June 19. This donation occurred 23 days after the CFTC announced it would join Gemini in seeking to partially vacate a 2025 judgment. The documents show that the committee sold the donated Bitcoin through Gemini. The CFTC previously stated that, under current enforcement standards, the complaint against Gemini would not have been filed, and noted that Gemini itself was a victim of fraud, citing changes in federal digital asset policy. Both parties are asking the court to lift the permanent injunction, but the $5 million penalty already paid by Gemini will not be refunded.
