Korean Media: Affluent Investors Recently Purchased Single-Stock Leveraged ETFs for Samsung and SK Hynix
Odaily Planet Daily News High-net-worth individuals with financial assets of at least 10 billion KRW are also actively buying leveraged ETFs linked to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Among retail investors, it is those in their 40s who have made the largest purchases of single-stock leveraged ETFs for Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix.
Commissioned by the Seoul Economic Daily, a major securities firm analyzed the investment portfolios of 25,000 high-net-worth individuals from May 27 to July 10 this year. The analysis found that three of the top five assets by net buying were single-stock leveraged ETFs linked to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. These investors net purchased 178.1 billion KRW worth of the "KODEX SK Hynix Single Stock Leveraged ETF" and 140.1 billion KRW worth of the "TIGER SK Hynix Single Stock Leveraged ETF," in addition to buying 116.6 billion KRW worth of the "KODEX Samsung Electronics Single Stock Leveraged ETF." Given that the remaining two assets in the top five were also common stocks of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, this indicates that wealthy investors have adopted a strategy of heavily betting on the "two giants" of the Korean stock market.
