NVIDIA Launches Spectrum-6 Ethernet Switching System for Next-Generation Hyperscale AI Factories
Odaily News, July 21st – NVIDIA has released its next-generation Spectrum-6 Ethernet switching system, designed to support hyperscale AI infrastructure based on the Vera Rubin platform. The system offers a single-switch throughput of 102.4Tbps, doubling that of its predecessor, and is intended to connect hundreds of thousands of GPUs and CPUs, providing network support for large-scale AI training, agent-based applications, and inference tasks.
NVIDIA stated that the Spectrum-6 will serve as the core component of the next-generation Spectrum-X Ethernet platform. By leveraging high bandwidth, intelligent traffic management, and fault recovery capabilities, it aims to enhance overall computational efficiency in AI factories. Early adopters and first deployers of this system include CoreWeave, Microsoft, Nebius, SpaceXAI, and Tesla, among other builders of AI infrastructure.
