花旗:依然看涨韩国股市,KOSPI目标10000点

2026-07-21 06:17

Odaily Planet Daily News: Citi analysts said that the recent sharp correction in the South Korean stock market may be nearing its end, and the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) is expected to rebound in the future. They maintain a target price of 10,000 points, representing over 50% upside potential from current levels.

The South Korean stock market has recently undergone a drastic adjustment, with the KOSPI falling 28% from its historic high on June 22 and dropping another 4.5% on Monday. Citi believes this decline was primarily driven by profit-taking and technical adjustments in the market, particularly led by decline in memory chip companies such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, rather than a deterioration of fundamentals. Citi pointed out that South Korea's strong economic fundamentals, the AI semiconductor cycle, and a more favorable policy environment could be significant factors driving a stock market rebound.

Earlier, South Korean retail investors heavily bought AI semiconductor-related leveraged ETFs. According to data from KB Financial Group, since the listing of single-stock leveraged ETFs on May 27, South Korean retail investors have net purchased approximately 14 trillion South Korean won (about $9.4 billion), far exceeding the roughly 2 trillion won bought by foreign investors. The recent market correction has put significant pressure on leveraged funds. (CNBC)
