US official: Trump to decide within days on expanding military action against Iran

According to Fox News, senior U.S. officials stated that President Trump is expected to decide within the coming days whether to expand military operations against Iran and resume full-scale combat. The officials emphasized that no final decision has been made yet. They said that if Trump orders a resumption of full-scale military action, its scale and intensity would "far exceed" the U.S. airstrikes that began on July 7 and lasted nine nights. The previous airstrikes primarily targeted Iranian military assets related to operations around the Strait of Hormuz. One official also confirmed that the U.S. military had previously largely avoided striking targets near Tehran or Iran's nuclear facilities.
