Odaily News: Japanese logistics company AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings plans to adopt the yen-pegged stablecoin JPYC to make payments to approximately 2,300 business partners. This is expected to be the first large-scale enterprise use of JPYC in Japan.
The stablecoin will be used to pay fees and compensation, including to truck drivers, who are individual contractors handling transportation services. AZ-COM Maruwa stated that using JPYC enables faster and more frequent payments without transfer fees.
AZ-COM Maruwa is also considering collaborating with JPYC and investing over 1 billion yen, equivalent to approximately $6.2 million. AZ-COM Maruwa is a mid-sized logistics company in Japan, whose major clients include Amazon Japan.
