BlackCat Ransomware Co-conspirator’s Approximately $8.37 Million in Crypto Assets, Properties, and Vehicles Seized
Odaily News: The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida has ordered the forfeiture of approximately 90.319 BTC, 7999.873 XMR, along with small amounts of XRP, XLM, and SOL held by Angelo Martino, a co-conspirator of the BlackCat/ALPHV ransomware group. Based on current market prices, the total value of the crypto assets is roughly $8.37 million, with the BTC portion worth approximately $5.84 million, the XMR portion worth about $2.46 million, and the other tokens collectively valued at around $71,000. The court also ordered the forfeiture of two properties in Florida, as well as assets including vehicles and a boat. Martino, who served as a ransomware negotiator, was sentenced to 70 months in prison for leaking client negotiation information to attackers and participating in ransomware attacks.
