Iranian military warns US against intervention in the Strait of Hormuz, threatening a devastating response
Odaily reported that the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters of Iran's Joint Supreme Military Command stated on Wednesday that the Iranian armed forces would deliver a "devastating response" to the U.S. military. This follows Iran's accusation that the U.S. military launched strikes on parts of southern Iran, labeling them as "acts of blatant aggression," and warning that Tehran will not allow U.S. intervention in the management of the Strait of Hormuz. The command stated that the only safe passage for commercial ships and oil tankers through the waterway is the route designated by Iran.
The U.S. military launched a new round of strikes against Iran on Tuesday, and after three oil tankers were hit by projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz, revoked licenses permitting Iranian oil exports, further pressuring an already fragile ceasefire agreement.
