Odaily reports that SpaceX is exploring broader mobile phone and mobile communication services. Some investors have reportedly seen a phone-like prototype device, which is thinner than an iPhone and runs a self-developed operating system.
The report states that during SpaceX's preparations for its IPO, company president Gwynne Shotwell discussed the possibility of building a ground network to provide mobile services and considered partnering with operators. Starlink is already collaborating with T-Mobile and others to provide cellular connectivity in remote areas.
