Secretary of State: Israel and Lebanon Nearing Preliminary Agreement

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Israel and Lebanon are close to reaching a preliminary agreement. However, if Iran channels funds to its proxies, the deal would be invalid. The fact that US Vice President JD Vance is leading the negotiations with Iran demonstrates the seriousness of the administration's approach.

Additionally, following a meeting with Gulf Cooperation Council ministers, US Secretary of State Rubio said, "We had a very productive meeting. Gulf states expressed some serious concerns. Oman indicated they do not support any toll system in the Strait of Hormuz. Gulf states are completely opposed to imposing passage fees in the strait. 'Fees' and 'tolls' are essentially the same thing. Establishing a toll collection system in Hormuz is not feasible." It remains unclear whether Iranian funds held in Qatar have been transferred, and the matter of a $300 billion reconstruction fund was not discussed during the GCC meeting.
