Japanese and South Korean stock markets closed higher, with Japanese stocks hitting a new closing high

Odaily reported that the Nikkei 225 index closed up 3191.37 points, or 4.61%, at 72,366.34 points on Thursday, June 25, setting a new record closing high. South Korea's KOSPI index closed up 459.76 points, or 5.43%, at 8,930.78 points. SK Hynix surged 13%, while Samsung Electronics rose over 5%.
