Western Union to Launch Solana-Based Stablecoin Card "Stable Card" Next Month

Odaily Odaily reported that Western Union announced during its Q1 earnings call that it will launch a Solana-based stablecoin, USDPT, next month. First unveiled in October 2025, the stablecoin is now in its "final stage." Anchorage Digital Bank will serve as the issuer of USDPT. This stablecoin is designed by Western Union specifically for settlement within its global agent network, rather than as a consumer-facing product. The company also plans to launch a USD stablecoin card in "dozens of markets" later this year, enabling consumers to hold value in stablecoin form and spend it globally. (Decrypt)
