AI research lab NeoCognition completes $40 million seed funding round, co-led by Cambium Capital and others

2026-04-22 10:13

According to Odaily, AI research lab NeoCognition announced the completion of a $40 million seed funding round, co-led by Cambium Capital and Walden Catalyst Ventures, with participation from Vista Equity Partners. Angel investors include Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan, Databricks co-founder Ion Stoica, and others.

Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, the company was co-founded by Ohio State University Associate Professor Yu Su, along with Xiang Deng and Yu Gu, focusing on enhancing the reliability of AI agents. Its approach involves enabling agents to construct domain-specific "world models" during actual usage to adapt to specific business environments, rather than relying on general-purpose pre-trained models. Currently targeting enterprise clients, the company plans to embed continuously optimizable AI agents into SaaS products and has not yet released a public product.
