Iran: First Round of Talks Showed Good Faith, but US Response Was Cold
Odaily Planet Daily News Today (April 22), Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Baghaei stated that Iran has not yet decided whether to participate in a new round of negotiations with the United States. In an interview with the media, Baghaei said that Iran participated in the first round of talks with the US with sincerity and a serious attitude. However, the US side displayed a cold attitude and lacked sincerity, with its stance also being inconsistent. He stated that Iran has clearly indicated that it will participate in the talks if doing so in Islamabad, Pakistan, is in the national interest, but no decision has been made yet. Baghaei noted that the US blockade of Iranian ports constitutes an act of aggression, including firing upon and seizing Iranian commercial vessels. Such actions, he said, are not what a country truly committed to a serious diplomatic process would do. (CCTV International News)
