Trump Amasses $550 Million Before Midterms, Seeks to Defy Historical Trends and Retain Republican Majority
Odaily According to a disclosure filed by MAGA Inc. with the Federal Election Commission, longtime Republican donor Diane Hendricks, who spoke at the Republican National Convention in 2024, contributed the bulk of this amount with a $25 million donation. Venture capitalists Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz each donated $3 million. The California-based tribal organization Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation donated $2 million. A subsidiary of prison operator GEO Group Inc., a federal contractor whose clients include Immigration and Customs Enforcement, donated $1 million.
At the outside group level, Republicans hold a clear advantage. Republican-affiliated House and Senate super PACs, along with Trump-aligned groups and the MAGA Inc. super PAC (which cannot coordinate directly with campaigns), had amassed a massive $853 million war chest before Monday's filing, far surpassing their Democratic counterparts.
