Coinbase Tests AI Employee Agents, Simulating Former Executives to Provide Decision Support

Odaily News Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated that the company is testing AI agents based on former executives to assist employees with decision-making and communication. Among them, the "Fred" agent simulates co-founder Fred Ehrsam, primarily used for optimizing documents and strategy, while the "Balaji" agent simulates former CTO Balaji Srinivasan, used to provide innovative ideas.

It is reported that this type of AI agent will be integrated into the company's internal communication system, and in the future, it may support employees in creating more agent roles themselves. Armstrong stated that, in the long term, the number of internal AI agents within the company may exceed that of human employees.

Furthermore, Coinbase has previously launched the Agentic Wallet that supports AI-autonomous transaction execution and is advancing the x402 protocol and related payment infrastructure construction, continuously exploring applications combining AI and blockchain. (Decrypt)
