Multiple vessels attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz but ultimately turned back
Odaily News Ship tracking data shows that around 10 vessels attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz on the 18th but ultimately turned back. Shipping trajectories indicate that multiple vessels turned back after reaching waters near Iran's Larak Island. Data shows that most of these vessels were oil tankers, with several having India listed as their destination in the Automatic Identification System. Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi announced on the 17th that the Strait of Hormuz would be open to all commercial vessels during the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel. However, Iranian media reported on the 18th that due to the United States "repeatedly breaking its promises," the Iranian military has reimposed stricter control over the Strait of Hormuz.
