Iranian Ambassador to India: Indian Oil Tankers Passing Through the Strait of Hormuz Have Not Paid Transit Fees to Iran
Odaily News: The Iranian Ambassador to India stated on Monday that Indian oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz have not paid transit fees to Iran.
Previously, U.S. President Trump vowed to block ships that pay fees to Iran from passing through the strait.
"You can ask the Indian government whether we have charged any fees so far," said Iranian Ambassador to India Mohammad Fatahali at a press conference held at the Iranian Embassy. "We maintain good relations during these difficult times. We believe Iran and India share common interests and a common destiny," he added. Since the outbreak of the Iran war, Iran has effectively blockaded this strategic waterway. India has repeatedly denied paying any fees. India stated that 15 Indian-flagged vessels remain trapped in the Persian Gulf. (Jin10)
