Former CFTC Chairman Giancarlo Transitions to Full-Time Crypto and Tech Advisor
Odaily News Former U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chairman Chris Giancarlo has announced his departure from the legal industry to become a full-time advisor in the crypto and technology sectors.
Giancarlo, who led the CFTC from 2017 to 2019, is known as "Crypto Dad" for his support of the crypto industry. During his tenure, he facilitated the launch of the world's first regulated Bitcoin futures and established the innovation unit LabCFTC.
After leaving office, he has provided advisory services to multiple institutions, including prediction market platforms and stablecoin-related companies. He also co-founded the "Digital Dollar Project" to advance research on central bank digital currencies.
Moving forward, Giancarlo will focus on providing strategic consulting to entrepreneurs and enterprises in the fintech and digital asset sectors, while continuing his involvement in public policy research and non-profit projects.
