U.S. Military to Block Maritime Traffic at Iranian Ports at 10 PM on the 13th

2026-04-13 00:24

Odaily News U.S. Central Command has issued a notice stating that U.S. Central Command forces will begin implementing a maritime traffic blockade on all vessels entering and exiting Iranian ports starting at 10:00 AM Eastern Time on April 13 (22:00 Beijing Time today). This blockade will be enforced equally against all national vessels entering and exiting Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Central Command forces will not impede the freedom of navigation for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to and from non-Iranian ports. Prior to the commencement of the blockade, further information will be provided to commercial mariners through formal notifications. All mariners are advised to monitor "Notice to Mariners" broadcasts and, when operating in the Gulf of Oman and the entrance area of the Strait of Hormuz, to contact U.S. naval forces via bridge-to-bridge channel 16.
