Sources: US-Iran Talks May Last Several Days

2026-04-09 14:27

Odaily News: Sources within the Pakistani government stated that US and Iranian delegations will hold "direct" talks in Islamabad aimed at reaching a "permanent ceasefire" agreement. The negotiations, scheduled to begin on Saturday, may last more than a day. Pakistan is preparing to host these talks. The meeting will be held at a heavily guarded military facility, organized by the Pakistani military. According to sources, there is no fixed timetable for the negotiations, which will include both direct and indirect contacts between the delegations. "Both sides will also hold face-to-face talks and separate meetings with the Pakistani side." Given the "complexity of the issues," discussions may last "several days." Sources said that (however) due to security concerns, the direct talks may not exceed two to three days. (Jin10)
