Coinbase CEO to Personally Engage in Bitcoin Quantum-Resistance Research

Odaily News: Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, stated that he will personally engage in research related to Bitcoin's quantum resistance, emphasizing that the industry needs to promote solutions as early as possible.

Coinbase Chief Security Officer Philip Martin previously pointed out that with the progress in quantum computing research, the industry needs to accelerate its response to potential threats. He noted that post-quantum cryptography is already feasible but is still in its early stages of development. Rushed implementation could introduce new security risks, and consensus needs to be reached on issues such as how to handle wallets that have not completed migration. Furthermore, Coinbase has initiated related infrastructure upgrades and research, and is promoting collaboration among developers and the community to advance quantum-resistant solutions.
