WSJ: Predictions of a Bitcoin surge in 2025 have not materialized.
According to Odaily Planet Daily, Bitcoin's bullish forecast for 2025 has fallen short of expectations. As of the end of 2025, Bitcoin was trading at approximately $88,000, a decrease of about 6% year-to-date. The performance of major institutions' forecasts is as follows: BlackRock CEO Larry Fink stated in January that if large investors allocated to Bitcoin, its price could reach $700,000. Bernstein predicted Bitcoin would reach $200,000 by the end of 2025 or early 2026. Standard Chartered initially set a year-end target of $200,000; although Bitcoin peaked at $126,000 in October, it subsequently declined, and the bank has since lowered its target to $100,000. Bitwise repeatedly predicted Bitcoin would break $200,000 in 2025. Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee previously predicted Bitcoin could reach $200,000 to $250,000 this year, but recently revised his prediction, suggesting it might return to above $100,000 by the end of December. Cathie Wood, CEO of ARK Investment Management, lowered her 2030 bullish forecast for Bitcoin to $1.2 million from $1.5 million (WSJ).
