OpenAI has hired Mike Libertero, the former finance chief at Elon Musk's xAI, as the artificial intelligence startup's business finance officer, overseeing its massive infrastructure spending, according to a report from Consumer News and Business Channel on Tuesday. He will start the job on Tuesday.

Liberatore, who helped raise $10 billion in funding and approved a massive data center expansion at Elon Musk's xAI, left the company at the end of July. Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, once close friends, have become fierce rivals, embroiled in a bitter legal dispute. (Zhitong Finance)
