Bitcoin's illiquid supply hit a record high, exceeding 14.3 million at the end of August
Odaily Planet Daily reported that in late August, the illiquid supply of Bitcoin (illiquid supply, that is, the number of Bitcoins held by entities with almost no spending history) exceeded 14.3 million BTC, a record high. In the past 30 days, the net increase in illiquid supply has reached 20,000 BTC. Of the 19.9 million BTC currently in circulation, approximately 72% of the total supply is in an illiquid state and is held by entities such as long-term holders and cold storage investors. This growth highlights that even during the recent market volatility, there is still a continued accumulation trend. In mid-August, Bitcoin hit a record high of $124,000, and then fell back by about 15%. Despite the price correction, the illiquid supply continued to rise, indicating that holders did not sell due to short-term adjustments. (Coindesk)
