Odaily News Aptos Labs and Jump Crypto have officially released Shelby, a high-performance, decentralized hot storage network designed for Web3 real-time applications, covering scenarios such as streaming media, AI data, social platforms, and DePIN.
Shelby achieves read and write speeds and reliability comparable to cloud services through global high-performance nodes, fiber backbones, and on-chain programmable architecture, breaking the centralization and performance bottlenecks of traditional Web2 services. It also has sub-second response, pay-as-you-go billing, Token gating, DRM, smart contract permission control, and dynamic pricing capabilities.
Projects such as Story Protocol, Metaplex, and Pipe Network will be the first to be connected, and NBCUniversal also plans to adopt Shelby in streaming scenarios to further verify the potential of its cross-chain real-time infrastructure.
The Shelby Developer Testnet (Devnet) is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2025 and will support multiple chain ecosystems such as Aptos, Ethereum, and Solana.
