Alex Protocol lost $8.3 million in an attack and promised full compensation

Odaily News Bitcoin DeFi platform Alex Protocol was attacked on June 6, losing about $8.3 million, including 8.4 million STX, 21.85 sBTC, 149,800 USDC and 2.8 WBTC. The team said the attack was caused by a self-listing verification logic vulnerability and will fully compensate affected users in USDC through a structured claims process. Previously, in May 2024, Alex lost $4.3 million due to a cross-chain bridge hack.
