Metaplanet launches Bitcoin equity financing plan, with a target holding of 210,000 BTC

Odaily News Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich announced that the company has launched a special Bitcoin equity financing plan with a total scale of 770.9 billion yen (about 5.4 billion US dollars), which will be achieved through the issuance of 555 million "mobile exercise warrants". This is the first time that such products have been issued in Japan at a premium above the market price, thanks to Metaplanet's high volatility and liquidity.
This plan follows the success of the previous “210 Million Plan”, which raised 93.3 billion yen (about 650 million U.S. dollars) in 60 trading days, achieved a BTC yield of 189%, and the stock price has more than tripled since the announcement, and the company’s Bitcoin holdings rank tenth in the world.
Metaplanet has set a new goal: to hold 100,000 BTC by the end of 2026, and to increase to 210,000 by the end of 2027, accounting for 1% of the total supply of Bitcoin. Gerovich said the company is accelerating towards a future centered on Bitcoin.
