South Korea's President-elect Lee Jae-myung: Will work to restore economy from first day in office
Odaily News Early this morning, Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, arrived at the rally in front of the National Assembly and expressed his gratitude to the Korean people. Moon Jae-in congratulated Lee Jae-myung on winning the 21st South Korean presidential election. The preliminary vote count showed that Lee Jae-myung received 48.5% of the votes, while the ruling party presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo received 42.9%, with a difference of more than 1.36 million votes. South Korean President-elect Lee Jae-myung said that he would work to restore the economy from the first day of his inauguration. (Kim Ten)
Lee Jae-myung previously proposed launching a stablecoin pegged to the Korean won in policy discussions to curb capital outflows and enhance the country's financial sovereignty. Since South Korean law currently prohibits the issuance of local stablecoins, local exchanges mainly rely on US dollar stablecoins.
