Odaily News According to monitoring by on-chain security analysis agency PeckShield, there were approximately 20 major cryptocurrency security incidents in May 2025, resulting in a total loss of US$244.1 million, a decrease of 39.29% from the previous month.
Among them, the Cetus protocol suffered a loss of $220 million, which was the largest event of the month. At present, the Cetus protocol and SUI have successfully frozen $157 million of stolen funds, and the remaining $63 million is still in the attacker's wallet. Other major events include the Cork protocol suffering a $12 million attack, a suspected North Korean-related hacking incident that caused a loss of $5.2 million, and the MBU token and MaplestoryU lost $2.2 million and $1.2 million respectively.
