Zhao Changpeng responded to the WSJ report, calling it "deliberate fabrication and non-journalistic behavior"
Odaily News Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) responded to the Wall Street Journal's recent report on his involvement in the World Liberty Financial project on the X platform, saying that it was not a real interview but a "malicious fabrication under the guise of asking questions," questioning whether he had become a "mouthpiece for negative narratives."
Zhao Changpeng cited the "Cunningham Law" and pointed out that WSJ violated the professional spirit of journalism by constructing a false narrative to induce clarification. He emphasized that the inquiries submitted by WSJ in advance were full of "errors and negative assumptions", such as accusing him of "matchmaking" for the WLF team and arranging a meeting with Pakistani official Saqib, while the fact is that he first met Saqib in Pakistan and had never been involved in any international itinerary of WLF.
He bluntly stated, "When the report starts from a negative stance, the so-called 'error correction' is meaningless because the whole story itself is fictional." He also believes that behind this incident is a reflection of "some forces in the United States attempting to suppress the development of the encryption industry and targeting global encryption leaders and government positions that support encryption."
