USTR: Negotiating alternatives to reciprocal trade

Odaily News The U.S. Trade Representative's office said on Friday it was in "constant engagement" with Japan and other countries on alternative reciprocal trade arrangements that could eliminate or reduce the current 10% tariff level imposed on most countries. A spokesman for the U.S. Trade Representative's office said in an emailed statement that the negotiations are substantive and technical, but President Donald Trump "will ultimately decide whether to pursue alternative arrangements with any country."
