Odaily News The SlowMist security team has issued a security alert, warning that social engineering attacks with malware have surged again recently. Hackers use fake video call links to trick victims into downloading malicious scripts to steal sensitive information.
In the latest case, the attacker first hacked into the victim's friend's Telegram account and then used the account to initiate a fake video call to reduce the target's vigilance. The SlowMist team reminds users that if they encounter an attack, they should immediately take the following measures:
1: Protect your assets: If your wallet private key/mnemonic phrase has been stored on your computer, you should transfer your funds as soon as possible.
2: Change password & 2FA: Immediately update accounts such as Telegram, X, email, exchanges, etc., and check for abnormal login records.
3: Run full antivirus: Scan the system using well-known antivirus software such as AVG, Bitdefender, Kaspersky, etc.
4: Reset the system (if necessary): Back up important files, reinstall the system and ensure that viruses are thoroughly checked before recovery.
Users should be vigilant and avoid clicking on unknown video call links to ensure the safety of their assets.
