OpenAI competitor Anthropic completes $3.5 billion financing at a valuation of $61.5 billion, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners

According to a person familiar with the matter, the company's annual revenue was about $1 billion at the end of last year. So far this year, that number has increased by 30%. Anthropic said the latest transaction was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, which invested $1 billion. Other investors participating in the Series E financing include General Catalyst, Jane Street and Fidelity Management & Research Company.
