WTF Academy founder: Hackers attacked Bybit because its Safe cold wallet ETH holdings ranked first

Odaily News 0xAA, founder of WTF Academy, posted on the X platform, asking why hackers targeted Bybit's Safe multi-signature wallet. He speculated that it was because Bybit's safe cold wallet held the most ETH, with more than 400,000 ETH. After the Bybit theft, the top three Safe multi-signature wallets held the following ETH:
1. Bitfinex cold wallet: 310,000 ETH;
2. Vitalik cold wallet: 2.4 million ETH;
3. Bandit hacker: 51,000 ETH.
The lesson from the Bybit hack is: don’t keep your eggs in a cold wallet.
