Russia plans to create mandatory registration agency for cryptocurrency mining equipment

Odaily News Russia’s Ministry of Energy announced today that it plans to create a single registry for cryptocurrency mining equipment, making it mandatory for all cryptocurrency mining operations to register. If the plan is implemented, cryptocurrency mining without registering equipment in the system will be “impossible,” TASS reported.
The initiative, led by Deputy Energy Minister Yevgeny Grabchak, is part of proposed amendments to existing mining regulations aimed at better identifying domestic mining activities, especially those held in areas where mining is not permitted.
