Odaily News The legal dispute between Curve founder Mikhail Egorov and three crypto venture capital giants ParaFi, Framework Ventures, and 1kx has taken another turn. The California Court of Appeal upheld the dismissal of the venture capital firm’s lawsuit on the grounds that the state was not the proper venue to hear the case.
The legal dispute dates back to June 2020, when the three VCs invested $3 million in Swiss Stake GmbH, the company behind Curve. By August 2020, Egorov canceled the investment, saying he missed deadlines and allegedly withheld the promised equity.
The lawsuit, filed in California in October 2022, accuses Egorov of fraud and embezzlement. Egorov has denied the allegations.
In September 2023, a San Francisco judge dismissed the lawsuit, ruling that the state was not the proper venue for the case. The three VCs appealed the decision, but the California Court of Appeal has now upheld the earlier ruling. (DL News)
