EigenLayer announced that the Rewards v2 protocol upgrade has been launched on the mainnet, which is the first ELIP proposal

Odaily News EigenLayer announced that the Rewards v2 protocol upgrade was launched on the mainnet at 12:49 PST on January 21 (4:49 Beijing time on January 22), aiming to bring greater flexibility, efficiency and customization to rewards in the EigenLayer ecosystem.
This upgrade is also the first EigenLayer Improvement Proposal (ELIP), which will introduce several enhancements, including operator-directed rewards, variable operator fees, and batch reward claims.
These upgrades enable AVS to dynamically incentivize operators, enabling customized rewards mechanisms that better suit their specific needs. There are no major changes to existing AVS and operator code or contracts. The features in Rewards v2 are in addition to the existing rewards functionality. If you are running Eigen Sidecar to view, audit, or verify rewards data, you will need to update to v2.0.0.
