Both extremes are ultimately futile and infinite optimism. What we need are specific categories of applications that both (i) truly make the world more free, open, and cooperative, and (ii) gain organic usage. We do have examples of this: Polymarket is great, and anoncast also has a great opportunity to showcase the best of free speech while avoiding the quagmire of spam and low-quality content."
