Odaily News Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev has criticized British policymakers for their "backward" stance on cryptocurrency trading, especially compared to regulated gambling activities. In an interview, Tenev said that despite concerns that young people will become "addicted" to cryptocurrency trading, individuals should have the freedom to make trading decisions of their own will. Earlier this year, Amanda Pritchard, head of the UK's NHS, expressed concern about the increase in the number of young men seeking treatment for Bitcoin trading addiction. She urged stricter regulation of cryptocurrency platforms to prevent further harm. In response, Tenev said: "I think people should be allowed to do what they want. But at the policy level, I find it strange, like: 'Gambling will continue, but suddenly, with cryptocurrencies and margin trading, we have a problem.' This seems to me to be a step backwards."
