SBl CTO: CBDC projects need to include more considerations for improving the existing financial management system

Odaily News At the 2024 Hong Kong SmartCon conference held by ChainLink, SBl CTO Tom Menner said in a roundtable discussion on "The Future of Financial Market Infrastructure", "SBI is involved in quite a few CBDC projects around the world, and a question that arises is, what are the commercial prospects of these potential projects? On the one hand, we have proven that the technology is effective, and both CBDC and various assets in the capital market can play their due role; but more importantly, do these actions make certain improvements to the existing financial management system? This is more worthy of our consideration.
