VanEck announces European compliant Solana ETN staking functionality
2024-10-21 11:47
Odaily News According to an official announcement, asset management company VanEck announced that its Solana exchange-traded notes (ETN) launched in Europe are now staking enabled. The staking method adopted by VanEck is completely non-custodial, which means that the custodian of the ETN assets always has full control over the pledged assets and there is no lending risk involved. Investors in Solana ETN do not need to take any action, and if rewards are issued, they will be included in the token equity of the ETN. Regardless of whether the custodian purchased the ETN last year or just last week, the total staking rewards received in the last time period will be distributed equally (minus 25% staking fees). VanEck delegates SOL to validators by instructing the custodian to use the physical SOL held by the ETN for staking. The validator node is owned and maintained by the staking service provider, but the delegated SOL is always controlled by the custodian.
