Wisconsin Investment Committee Increased Holdings of BlackRock Bitcoin ETF by Nearly 500,000 Shares in Q2 and Sold All GBTC

Odaily News According to a 13-F filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Wisconsin Investment Board significantly increased its investment in the BlackRock Spot Bitcoin ETF in the second fiscal quarter of 2024, adding 447,651 shares, bringing its total holdings to 2,898,051 shares, with a total value of approximately $98.9 million. At the same time, the board decided to liquidate all of its holdings in the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), which were valued at $63.7 million in the previous quarter. Although BlackRock iShares Bitcoin Trust holdings grew, the dollar value of the investment actually decreased by $228,227 due to the decline in market prices. This caused the board's total dollar exposure to the spot Bitcoin ETF to fall by about 39% at the end of the quarter. However, the Wisconsin Investment Board also made moves in other cryptocurrency-related assets. They purchased 5,980 shares of Coinbase, bringing their total holdings to 98,446 shares, with a total value of nearly $21.9 million.
