Casa Lianchuang: LND nodes running versions prior to 0.17.0 need to be updated as soon as possible to fix critical vulnerabilities

Odaily News Jameson Lopp, co-founder of Bitcoin custody company Casa, issued a reminder on X: Any LND (Bitcoin Lightning Network) node running a version before 0.17.0 should be updated immediately to fix a critical vulnerability. According to information shared by X platform user @DavidShares, LND versions before 0.17.0 are vulnerable to malicious DoS attacks. Running an old version of LND puts funds at risk because it is prone to attacks. This vulnerability is highly severe due to the low cost of the attack and the simplicity of operation. The vulnerability was discovered a year ago, in June 2023.
